On the 10th of March 2018 UPRacing held its fantastic 10-year event at the Best Western Royal Beach Hotel. A huge amount of organisation and hard work went towards this event and it really showed! It was great to see a big turnout basking in balloons, bunting and beverages which filled every corner, and really looked the part.
The evening began with the opportunity to meet and greet past and present team members whilst glancing at photos from every year of the team up on a screen. Evidently, this event was a superb chance to gain invaluable knowledge and feedback from old hands on previous successes and failures. Amongst the resonating sound of conversation and laughter, guests were digging in to a selection of appetising light food which had been meticulously prepared, adding to the delights of the evening. Midway, speeches took place with inspiring words from team leader Adam Tunbridge and a fascinating insight about the history of the team and the origins of Formula Student from David Wiltshire.
Once the event had formally finished members and guests were able to continue socialising at a nearby bar adding to the wealth of memories made that night.
The celebration ran incredibly smoothly thanks to the commitment of the event team. It was a perfect way of relaxing whilst encouraging ourselves at the same time for 2018 and beyond. An evening full of old and new faces sharing stories and knowledge combined, moments like this really highlight how important the team is to so many people. UPRacing can’t wait to make this year the best ever and continue the team’s legacy. Bring on the next 10 years!
